I have recently graduated from The University of Portsmouth after studying Fashion and Textile Design for 3 years. I hope to continue my studies there, this time for a Masters degree in Illustration.
I absolutely adore Fashion and Textile design but have always been more passionate when it comes to the textiles side of things, I would like to create more motifs and prints and designs without the limitations of 'how would this work on a garment'. It has taken a couple of years of trial and error but I can now confidently say that I have my own unique style and I plan to take this style and turn it into my own brand in the near future.
My style is inspired by the nostalgic happiness that comes with reminiscing about your childhood, this is a topic everyone can relate to because, let's face it, we were all children once upon a time! I have used retro toys and games and classic children's prints as a basis which creates the perfect form of juxtaposition against the use of digital design. These prints will adorn a plethora of items from clothing such as dungarees and jackets, to stationary such as notebooks and pens, to the most random of objects like cutlery because who doesn't need dinosaur knives and forks right?? So watch this space!

I plan to one day collaborate with other big brands such as Lazy Oaf and Doc Martens, big dreams I know! My motto is 'more is more, less is a bore' (I heard it from my print technician first... thank you Erin) and although I use it to describe my style I think it fits to my dreams too.

I have been creative since I was small, always drawing and making things like dolls houses out of cereal boxes. I owe a bunch of my creativeness to my Uncle, he is an Author and Illustrator and Artist, his work is quite dark for me but he inspired me to peruse a career in the arts.

Growing up I always said I wanted to be an Author, but I seemed to forget that passion as I grew up. It is still something I would like to one day visit alongside my print design, as a lot of design is made up of characters it would be fun to give them names and personalities and create stories about them.

As you can tell (if you're still here reading this) I have a lot of future plans! So along the menu bar there is a link to my instagram, follow it if you haven't already and you can keep up to date on all of my BIG ideas and hopefully (fingers crossed) watch them become a reality.
